sustainability tour Our upcoming Nepal Permaculture Tour is a one-of-a-kind program that weaves together the following cultural and sustainable components for an informative travel experience:

 

  • Insightful tours of the Kathmandu Valley’s seven World Heritage sites led by a respected Nepali professor.
  • An in depth and hands on immersion course in the exciting sustainable design methodology of permaculture .
  • An excursion to the jungle of Chitwan National Park where we will share a meal and stories with a local indigenous group who depends on the park for the preservation of their cultural heritage….and catch a glimpse of the endangered one-horned rhino.
  • A professionally led trek through mountain villages in the awe-inspiring Himalayan foothills
  • Site visits to local organic farms to learn about small scale initiatives with a prolonged stay at one on the Kathmandu outskirts.

travel nepal Permaculture Design instructor and international activist Rico Zook will be present throughout the trip to provide insight and answer questions about sustainability principals and locally appropriate technologies that will be seen along the way. Permaculture certification will conclude by developing a site specific design over a few days on a farm outside Kathmandu. All participants who successfully complete the tour will leave Nepal with an official certificate in Permaculture Design.

 


Participants will leave with a deep appreciation and understanding of the history and culture of Nepal as well as sustainability techniques and their application within Nepal and beyond.
