Rara National Park
Rara National Park is a large national park located in northwest Nepal. It is the smallest park in the region. However, it has a big oval lake called Rara Lake that makes it special. This beautiful verdant lake is situated tall at an altitude of about 9800 ft and is the largest one to be found in Nepal.
Rara National Park is not a typical tourist destination, neither is it thronged by travelers. This has both an advantage and a disadvantage. The advantage is that the park remains a largely untouched area that promises an unparalleled experience. For those who love adventure and exploration, the park is a spot-on destination. The disadvantage is that the stay and the experience at the park can be slightly uncomfortable. Rara National Park does not offer a typical family holiday experience complete with comfortable accommodations, fancy eating joints, great shopping areas et al.

Rare National Park can be reached only by road. You can either take a bus or can hire a cab. The road to the area is not properly developed and the journey can be uneasy. But, the charm and the natural beauty of the park more than makes up for the discomfort that one may experience during the journey.
Since the park is located at a high altitude, it becomes an unsuitable and unpleasant destination during winters. The road to the park almost crumbles down during the monsoons. Therefore, summers are the ideal time to pay a visit here.
At this park, in addition to rejuvenating in the serenity of the surroundings, you can enjoy some actual camping and bonfire experience. Jungle safari here should not be missed since you are likely to encounter interesting animal and plant species in the park.
