Tribhuvan Museum

Tribhuvan museum was created to pay homage to the Nepali's beloved king Tribhuvan. The museum helps to civilize younger generation about the chivalry of the late king. According to the history of Nepal, the king was revered as one of the greatest rulers of Nepal. This place houses a number of different exhibits depicting different stages of the king's life. Personal stuff like walking stick, boxing gloves, coin collections etc are also on display. The other part of the museum is filled with newspaper clippings about the different rulers like King Mahendra, King Birendra and more.

A nine story Basantpur Tower is also present in the museum premise; you can have a magnificent view of city atop this tower.

The museum highlights the entire life time saga of the king. It showcases his victories and loses. The museum houses number of rare photographs of the royal family and displays very rare artifacts and personal items used by the king. There are also on display, newspaper articles on his final victory against the Ranas. This place takes one through a part of Nepal history when the country was in utter turmoil. It speaks of a single individual who fought to eradicate the dictatorship of the Ranas and bring peace and democracy to the people of Nepal. The museum has magnificent painting of the King and, other kings who ruled Nepal after his period. The museum is tribute to the King who fought for his people and gave them their freedom. It is place which one must visit on their trip to this beautiful country.

The museum is open to public from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm except Tuesday and from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm on Friday.
